Charlie Chaplin

Charlie Chaplin, considered to be one of the most pivotal stars of the early days of Hollywood,
lived an interesting life both in his films and behind the camera.
He is most recognized as an icon of the silent film era, often associated
with his popular "Little Tramp" character; the man with the toothbrush mustache,
bowler hat, bamboo cane, and a funny walk.
Charles Spencer Chaplin was born in Walworth, London, England on April 16th, 1889
to Charles and Hannah Chaplin, both music hall performers
In November 1914, he left Keystone and signed on at Essanay, where he made 15 films.
In 1916, he signed on at Mutual and made 12 films. In June 1917, Chaplin signed up
with First National Studios, after which he built Chaplin Studios.

We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that.

and the good earth is rich and can provide for everyone.
The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.
Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate,
has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed.
We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in.
Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want.
Our knowledge has made us cynical; our cleverness, hard and unkind.
We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery, we need humanity.
